A Cultural Journey at the Chiayi National Palace Museum

Visiting the Chiayi National Palace Museum was a journey filled with culture and history. The event featured Professor Li Wei-Guo, who began with the museum’s iconic treasure, the Jadeite Cabbage, exploring its historical and cultural significance. As a masterpiece of Qing Dynasty craftsmanship, the Jadeite Cabbage reflects not only the artisans’ skill but also symbolic meanings in imperial life.

Professor Li also introduced the “Four Elegant Pastimes” cherished by Song Dynasty scholars: painting, tea brewing, incense burning, and flower planting, shedding light on their cultural importance.

After the museum tour, participants gathered at the lobby of the Evergreen Hotel, where the Lanyun Guzheng Ensemble, under the guidance of Professor Huang Mei-Ching, performed enchanting melodies. These musical pieces celebrated the 94th anniversary of the International Federation of Business and Professional Women (IFBPW).

This event deepened participants’ appreciation of Chinese ancient culture and offered an artistic experience through music, making it a memorable and culturally rich occasion.
